“Saving for Christmas? What”? I hear you ask!
As I write this blog post, it’s the middle of summer and 24 degrees outside. I’m sure saving for Christmas is the last thing on your mind. But should it be?
The majority of Brits are hopeless when it comes to saving for Christmas. Leaving it until the last minute is what most of us do, making the stress of the big day overtake the fun and festivities that lead up to it.
With gifts, extra food, new clothing and homewares on the list of things we spend on in the weeks before Christmas, it’s not surprising that many people go into debt to get through.
So, what if there was a really simple way that you could start saving for Christmas now?
Furniture doesn’t need to be expensive. There are lots of ways to save money on furniture, here are some of them:
A few years ago, we were redecorating our bedroom and started to look around at bedroom furniture. There seemed to be two main options, solid wood or veneer. Both were very different styles and had very different price tags! Our existing furniture was solid pine with the traditional round knobs.
