HOW TO ADOPT A HEALTHY FAMILY LIFESTYLE
Life is uncertain and none of us can guarantee that we will always be completely healthy. That being said, there are several, fairly simple things that we can do, and encourage our families to do, that will ensure that we are in the best possible health. That way, if we do happen to get sick, our bodies are better able to deal with it and recover.
Do these things each day to ensure you are in the best possible health.
Avoid Toxins
This is often easier said than done because potentially harmful toxins are so ubiquitous in modern life, but if you can make an effort to use natural products instead of ones with high levels of chemicals, using vinegar instead of bleach for example. Also, if you can avoid things like smoking, then you will be off to a good start in terms of keeping your body healthy.
Everything in Moderation
It would be easy to say that you should never drink alcohol or eat processed foods, but that’s probably a bit unrealistic. Let’s face it, treats are part of life’s enjoyment. As long as they are just treats, there is no problem having wine, chocolate or crisps now and again. It’s when you start consuming them on a very regular basis and/or replacing good healthy food and water with them that they become a problem.
If you have trouble with moderation with food or alcohol, organisations like Overeaters Anonymous or local addiction clinics are there to help and you should use them. Moderation in all things is the key to a healthy balanced life.
Lift Heavy Things
Any exercise that you take will help you to stay fit and healthy, more so if you do it regularly, but it is fair to say that lifting heavy things is perhaps one of the best forms of exercise available. Not only is it very good for weight loss, but it can strengthen your bones to stave off illnesses like osteoporosis in the future, boost your metabolism, lower your insulin and blood sugar levels and help to keep you strong.
Adding weight training into your schedule even once or twice a week will have huge benefits, and it is something that most people can do, although you may need to take it slow at the start.
It doesn’t have to cost anything, you can simply lift things at home on a regular basis.
Walk Outdoors
Going out for a walk is great for your health. Not only does it get you moving more, but it also exposes you to vitamin D from the sun’s rays, which is vital for healthy bones and teeth amongst other things, Not only that but walking in nature has also been proven to reduce stress and depression. Oh, and it’s a great way to spend healthy family time together too!

Get Your Beauty Sleep
Sleep isn’t just good for your looks, it’s vital for your overall physical and mental health. A lack of sleep can increase your risk of obesity, heart disease, depression, and diabetes amongst other things. So, make getting 7-9 hours each night a priority even if that means switching off Netflix an hour earlier or drinking less coffee during the day.
Follow these five simple rules and you’ll start to feel the benefits in no time at all!
